Votes for Women!
As part of their local history work, Class 2 have been finding out about the Suffragette Emily Davison, whose parents were from Morpeth here in the North East. They looked for clues in photographs and newspapers and saw the shocking report about her brave dash in front of the king’s horse. They all agreed it wasn’t fair that women couldn’t vote so made their own posters and went on a (very noisy) protest around school.
Everyone agreed that they were glad men and women could vote in the general election this Thursday.
