Class 2 went outside this week to prepare their raised vegetable bed. After taking out all of the weeds and digging in the fertiliser and top soil, they were ready to start planting! Come summer, they hope to be feasting on potatoes, beetroot, spinach, broad beans and strawberries. Thanks to Gabby saving all of our vegetable waste and egg shells, they also made a start on the Cassop Compostarium, finding lots of lovely worms to help degrade the peelings.
Special thanks to the PTFA for providing our wonderful raised beds.
Low Mill 2015
The Low Mill group are enjoying lovely weather and everyone has tried everything so far! They all went abseiling on the first day followed by a night walk and last night they played team games and rounders. They’ve got one more activity today before returning home. Once they’re back I’ll upload the photos onto the school website.
(They also enjoyed birthday cake last night – Happy Birthday Ben). More photos are on the Class 5 Page
Maths – Class 2
To make the most of the glorious sunshine, Class 2 decided to partition their 2- and 3- digit numbers outside on the playground!
Stick Man – Class 2
Class 2 ventured into the Secret Garden this week to read ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson. After listening to the story, the children made their own stick people and took them on adventures. They told some fantastic stories and couldn’t wait to bring them back to the classroom and get writing. If you pop into Class 2, you will see all of our lovely stick people on display!
